Diagnosis: Fever

Marshall has a fever of uncertain (though I suspect teething related) origin.  One xray, one swab of his nose, one panel of bloodwork, and six hours later, we know we will be on our way home…

Here’s hoping this is just teeth and not something more serious.  The lab will call with the blood culture results at some point tomorrow.  And let the cultures grow for another five days after that…

Fever struck

We are in Upstate’s ER.

Marshall spiked a fever of 101.2 at 3:30 a.m.  and made grunty sounds when he breathes.  Fortunately he quickly responded to tylenol and a bath which brought the fever down one degree.  But not enough for his mama to not take him in.

So we are here.  They did a nasal swab and an xray.  Plus called Dr E from our local cardiology team to weigh in.

Now we wait and hope…

Good Surprises

Marshall’s cardiologist appointment was full of good surprises today.

Thankfully.  We really needed some good news and we got surprised.  Marshall’s echo revealed NO CHANGE in the gradient where the blockage was pre-cath.

Annnnnddd the function of his heart has improved (however slightly).

Good surprises after a very, very long few days.

The count is now 5 out of 6 of us sick at home.  And Marshall is the healthiest…
Which I attribute to him just showing us all what he is made of ;-).

My goodness I don’t have enough words to thank everyone who took the time to think of us all this week…

Never been so happy to have strep….

It’s Isaac’s birthday and the grown ups here are sick sick sick…but ironically so relieved.

Marshall is healthy (we took him into the great ladies at his pediatrician’s office this a.m.)  and unlikely to catch what we have got.

Now to call in the reinforcements to get the party (and dinner and laundry and errands and all I can not do from my perch on the couch) done…

Then another cardiologist appointment tomorrow…

Send some big thoughts and prayers if possible…so many thanks
