CICU Day 4 post a.m. rounds

So they rounded. Plan is to drop ng tube, start the slidenifil & nutrition (dairy free formula with lipids), decrease nitric (went back up to 5% because his heart rate dropped to 60 bpm when they shut it off), try to dial back the vent (he went from 40% before we left last night to 70% this a.m.), balance his fluids, bridge the gap between where he is and where they want him to be, and hold off on extubation

Please pray harder and send some really, really good thoughts. He wakes up panicked and crying and they have to give more sedation meds which counters the attempts to wean vents.

And he is getting more blood.

Thank you so. Hugs and love❤

CICU Day 4

Please, please, please send super massive incredibly potent prayers. Often. From anywhere you can get them.

At 3 am they tried to turn off the nitric. Marsh didn’t tolerate the nitric wean. His o2 sats dropped in to the 60s.

So no extubation.

Dr Baird was here for rounds early and did not want to move the chest drains or any of the lines.

They are going to drop an ng tube and give slidenafil to act as a bridge from the nitric to without. Xray and labs were fine. His wbc was slightly elavated. He is diuresing great on the lasix.

Hugs, love, and so many, many thanks ❤

CICU Day 3 post rounds

Marsh is stable and in “great” shape (direct quote). He is in junctional, not sinus, rhythm and being paced. Rounding doc suspects meds are at part to blame with the small possibility of needing a pacemaker. So they are weaning him off of the Dex and intend to put him in prophenol (spelling?) late this evening.

He will not be extubated today. They are weaning down from the nitric and want that off for some time before they pull the tube.

And they are going up on the milrinone.

Please keep praying/sending those powerful good thoughts. Michael and I would give everything to look into his eyes and hold him.

Hugs and love❤

Small changes

Marsh is stable. The team is pleased with his recovery so far considering he had five rounds of bypass yesterday and an intense surgical experience.

He needed blood overnight (I lost count after 4 rounds of blood products.) They started warming him up at around 7 a.m. Marsh’s central line went bad last night and they couldn’t get numbers that they needed so they had to replace the line. They went up on the heparin a couple of times.

And they started milrinone to help with the right ventricle function and overall perfusion.

EKG was ok.

He is still on the vent and nitric.

Please send really good thoughts and hefty prayers. He is 24 hours post op and has such a long, long way to go❤
