It has been one year

Last Memorial Day weekend as people were kicking off summer with family gatherings, picnics, and parades Marshall got really sick.

It’s easy to remember how dangerously ill he was and very hard to forget what followed with all that happened last summer…

For one so small, Marshall he has been through so, so, so much.

Thankfully he’s not as sick now.

And he’s home where he thrives best with his brothers and the rest of us.

So grateful for it all and those who honor and protect our family, our country, and all of us ❤

Thriving!!

Cardiologist appointment went GREAT! HE DOESNT WANT TO SEE US AGAIN UNTIL JULY!! Gradient changed a little but only because Marshall weighs in at a record breaking 20 lbs 6 oz!!

Oooh and he grew 1/2 an inch 🙂

Marshall’s heart function has improved slightly too.  A few meds changes and we’re off for lunch to celebrate this small victory.

I updated Dr. Friedman and I’m waiting for his response to see when he’d like us to take Marshall back there for a follow up.  I’d give nearly anything to keep our troop of wild boys home together this summer…

Many thanks for those good thoughts & prayers.  We are sending them to you as well!

Much love and many hugs!!

Cardiologist Appointment

Marshall sees Dr S today…for the first time in over one month! There’s this part of me that is excitedly relieved to have such time between appointments.

Then there’s this part of me that is terrible concerned.  It was this time last year when Marshall got so, so, so sick.  And then he missed his first summer.  And our family was 300 miles apart facing a painful unknown.

That was then…

Today, just like the past few weeks of warmer weather, I am so thankful for now – the summer I waited two summers for.

The Fantastic Marshall Experience has taught me so much.  Espeically that rather than worry, just wait to see what happens next.  And hope soooo hard that Marshall is as good on the inside as he seems on the outside…

If you have time, please send a good thought or prayer Marshall’s (and all other sick kids’) way.
