Marsh had a good night. He slept and drank some lemonade. Now to get him to go #2 and eat….

Rumor has it he is going to 8 East (the regular cardiac unit today!)

And he sleeps…22 hours later. Marsh had a heck of a time coming down off of the meds (borderline withdrawal symptoms.) This is the first time he has slept since extubation yesterday.

Last night was a mess Michael and (especially) I will not ever forget. Hopefully Marsh will not remember.

The chest tubes irritated everything and hurt. His lungs were full of gunk. His belly is full of muck.

And the vomiting… It even ended up in my hair which wasn’t washed until this afternoon (15 hours after it landed on me.)

We have been busy. My apologies for the lack of updates. The not sleeping last night combined with seeing him struggling so was beyond words.

The good news is he is down to 2 iv meds (compared to 3 double racks of ivs), the chest tubes were pulled this a.m., atrial line removed early morning, and best of all, he has mostly passed all the lung gunk.

He has been out of bed and on his feet walking (with assistance) 6 times. He also sat in the recliner a couple of times today.

Dr Friedman ordered an echo for tomorrow. Pray (or whatever you believe) that Marsh cooperates with the oral meds, feeds, and drinking. Pray that his gi system wakes up and works so the vomiting stops. Pray that the lungs clear out. Pray that he strengthens. Pray Pray Pray that it gets us home soon. There is no room on the floor and the CICU is no place to be hanging out.

Marsh had a few bites of solid food and a couple of MLS of his milk. He has been able to stand on shakey legs and walk with assistance.

Please send good thoughts and/or pray ferociously. He is improving but his heart is in rough shape and every bit helps.

Marsh started vomiting at some point after 9 PM last night.

Marsh is really really lousy and throwing up because of everything. And throwing up everything. And has only peed once.

Please send some prayers this passes quickly.

I have been awake 25 hours and 12 minutes. I am so thankful to hold him and mother him again but we really need to get him better.

Another day in CICU..I think this is day 6…

Please send good healthy thoughts and really strong energies. He is all mixed up and I am really concerned.

We have a very tired little boy who has been through hell but no more vent!

Thank you so much for the prayers. Lets keep them coming to get his belly feeling better and to get his heart straightened up enough to get back home where we belong please.
