After a trip for xray, a roll around the rooftop “garden” in the wheelchair, and a long nap.
Pray, hope, wish, think, and otherwise beg the universe to get us back home.

And Marsh “is too tired to do anything” direct quote
Greetings not much to report. Nurse was great at keeping pain meds on board overnight. Marsh woke feeling better today though he is still awfully quiet.
Chest tubes are coming out as soon as the floor doctor handles a different situation.
More later perhaps…
Not much to report about the day… Marsh is a little grizzly bear because of the pain in his belly. He just wants to sleep or watch movies.
The drain can’t come out tonight as the output is still too great.
Today has been difficult all around.
Stand in cardiologist (Dr. Kane) stopped in to check on Marsh and will be covering Friedman’s absence (Friedman is in japan still).
Dr Kane is reaching out to Dr Smith tonight. Maybe we can at least get back to New York if we can’t make it home…
As soon as the drains are out, they will try for a sterile echo. Hopefully they can gather better info about the heart function, pressure and pulmonary vein gradient after that…
Heading to 8 East or 8 West in a few🤞🤞

Just took 2nd walk and made it 35 ft and back!
Greetings from 8 South
Marsh slept most of yesterday after his walk. His pain peaked in ferocity around 10 pm. They added oxycodone to the pain management regime in addition to tylenol.
Xray this a.m. revealed some more cloudiness (indicative of plueral effusion).
Rounds this a.m. included the addition of valium until the chest drain comes out, higher dose of lasix, plan to remove chest drain this afternoon depending upon output, and perhaps a trip to 8 East or 8 West if they have bed
Marsh walked 30 feet and back this a.m. He is now watching Toy Story 4 in my arms❤
Oh.. and we received pacemaker training…no magnets or electronics within 6 inches of his belly! No more swinging on his belly at playgrounds either…
Marsh walked 27 feet to a nurses station and back to his bed.
The walk was heartbreaking to watch and beyond extremely painful because of his chest drain, but he did it. ❤
Good morning. Last night was tough. Marsh was all over the place with his o2 sats, post op bleeding, and pain.
I was awake with him until 6 a.m.
His pace maker is doing its job and he has settled down tremendously.
While I slept, they removed the atrial line, added the antiarrythmic, and switched him from morphine to oxycodone.
He is down to 1 liter of o2.
He drank the better part of a ginger ale, unloaded some fluid, and is resting in my arms. ❤
