“A little bit good. Just a little bit.”

– Direct quote from Marsh on how he is feeling.

Per Dr. Smith’s instruction, I went up on the lasix last night to try to help Marsh.

It didn’t work.

We leave for Boston today after a 12 day run of something I can’t even describe with words.

The plan is preop testing tomorrow. And a cath Thursday.

But we all know Marsh makes his own plans.

Please, please, please send good thoughts and prayers to Marsh, his brothers, and his teams of medical professionals. ❤❤❤❤❤❤

Home for now

Dr. Smith called with the preliminary labs this morning. The really good news is Marsh can stay outpatient for now until or unless his medical needs exceed my (very limited) capabilities.

Marshall’s potassium is slightly low, his white blood cell count is fine, his sed rate and c-reactive protein are elevated (yet at the same level as his last round of labs from the June hospitalization), and we are still waiting on the blood culture.

The xray shows a medium, localized pleural effusion on the left lower side of his lung.

Dr. Smith has spoken at length with the Syracuse Cardiology team as well as Dr. Friedman in Boston. They agree that there is very little change from the June hospital discharge and the best way to proceed is to tap the lung before the cath while Marsh is sedated.

This means a medium owie for Marsh but the lingering pleural effusion is non-acute (unless the cultures come back differently) and related to the left lower pulmonary vein obstruction set to be dilated next week during the regularly scheduled “tune up” cath.

In the meantime, Marsh is resting and receiving o2 support as a “boost.” He is having violent coughing episodes and liquids seem to go straight to his lungs. He doesn’t have much of an appetite and has an intermittent low grade fever.

If you have a spare prayer or good thought to send, please do. We will send them right back when Marsh needs them a little less.

Hugs, love, and so many thanks❤❤❤❤❤❤

Post Cardiologist appointment

Dr. Super Smith confirmed that the left pleural effusion is the likely culprit of the fever and breathing difficulties.

The x-ray is unchanged. Marsh had to have a poke (for which he SCREAMED which helps clear these lungs.)

If the labs return abnormal, Marsh will have to be admitted at Upstate tomorrow morning and have the fluid drained/infection treated.

Dr. Super Smith will reach out to Dr. Friedman (Boston) regarding the plan for the cath…

Please, please send more prayers and good thoughts.

Hugs and love and sooo many thanks❤❤❤❤❤❤

Happy First Day of School, Everyone!

We are cheering you on here at home for now.

I can not believe we have a JUNIOR(!), Freshman(!!), seventh (!!!) grader, and first (!!!!) grader already!?!?!?!?!

May you all have a great school year💕💕💕💕

And in not so good news, Marsh’s fever returned and increased last p.m. at around 10:20 p.m. Plus he is coughing ferociously. We are at the max level of home o2 support as well.

Presently waiting on a call back from Dr. Smith and will be heading to Upstate again if need be…

Please, please send some good thoughts/big prayers.

Hugs, love, and so many thanks❤
