Gwen called. The cultures from Marsh’s incision are partially back.

It is pseudomonas – a hospital borne encapsulated bacteria. The staph isn’t back yet but should be before the end of the day. Given the run of luck we have had, it will probably be positive.

So for now we are adding another layer of antibiotic. If it doesn’t hold or take, iv is next.

The only good news I have to offer is the redness and seepage have lessened with the topical and oral meds he began on Tuesday.

Marsh saw Gwen today. His chest wound is infected.

Cultures will be back in 24-48hrs

Will take 3-4 months at least for wound to heal. No school and “isolation” (no public outings or sick visitors) until it heals.
