If anyone asks about Marsh’s Make-A-Wish experience of making his Marshall Man comic come to life thanks to American High’s genius, he always turns to me and says “You tell them, Mom.”
We first made contact with Make A Wish CNY when Marsh was just four years old.
Marsh wanted to “Meet Deadpool in New York City” but the powers that be said that he was “too young.”
Flash forward FIVE years: Marsh was in second grade and obsessed with drawing and film with a deep love for certain superheroes. He insisted I join him in making a dual comic (meaning his creative demands instructed me for EVERY detail) and we created “Marshall Man.”
We were busy with family, school, and work so the comic was shelved until Marsh started asking me when he could make his movie.
I reached for a contact who connected us to Make a Wish and they reached for a contact and American High. Then Marsh’s Wish evolved into a Paulo Coelho Alchemist-esque moment. Every force in the universe aligned.
There are not enough words in any and every language to express gratitude we hold deep in our hearts for the ever-lasting joy and happiness the entire Wish experience gifted our family.
