He’s coming around slowly

Dr Luis joined us this evening. They are closing tomorrow hopefully around 10 a.m.  (though they have another procedure before Marshall.)  And our little man is coming around. He is opening his eyes. And wiggling his head. And attempting to move his neck. And moved his foot when I tickled his toes. And he is […]

He moved when I touched him!

Marshall has been on a “paralytic holiday” for 12 hours. This a.m. during our visit he moved when I touched him.  And I got to rub his forehead & touch his itty bitty swollen foot. Then they gave him more paralytic which will only last one hour but is necessary to keep him and his […]

Waiting for the phone to not ring

Marshall is officially one week old.  I could only rub his head and tell him how much I love him to celebrate. This is lousy.  There is nothing at all that I can do for him. And I’m his mama. But it could be so much worse. Marshall is “stable” still. His team would like […]

“First” Christmas

Next Week

Dr. S took the time to call me while he was “on vacation” (which, in his words, means he is “just trying to get some work done.”) After giving him a run down of Dr. F’s findings, he thanked me for the lengths I’ve gone to in researching Marshall’s condition.  He has a 22 month […]

“Half hearted”

Boston was exhausting. I lost count after the fourth hour of ultrasounds.   The good news is Marshall has hair.  And we watched him blink his eyes.  And it seems our baby, though absolutely beautiful, is basically (in the simplest of terms) a genetic mutant with a very rare, very severe series of heart defects. […]
