Our pets keep checking in on our littlest wild one! Brady managed to Houdini the baby gate. Daisy slept at Marsh’s feet most of the afternoon. And now Mr Kitty won’t budge.
Marsh has been a little low energy today but still holds the title for the strongest person I have ever met. He is staying hydrated but without much of an appetite. He did have some segments of orange, a couple of gummi bears (at his request) and his favorite chicken nuggets but not much else today.
Marsh is experiencing the highest fevers I have ever seen him have. They have ranged between this a.m. high of 101.3 – to 99.9 all afternoon with Tylenol on board. Marsh’s circulation worsens when his temperature rises (just as it does when the weather is super hot) and he gets pretty purple.
A fever however slight alters his breathing pattern and really makes his heart – which has already been through so, so, so much – work that much harder.
So here I sit. I have spent the day holding and watching him while checking his temperature, encouraging him to drink, giving him breathing treatments, and making sure all the meds go in on time.
A good night’s rest for us both is much needed. And big, healthy thoughts for Marsh. Adrenaline plus complete and terrible worry can only carry so far a mama who has the flu again, too…
Hugs and love❤
