Wow…Good bye & Good riddance

When attempting to strap Marsh into his high chair tonight, I noticed this:

The entire left strap of the restraint system was completely out of the back of the chair…

Yes he is THAT STRONG.

And yes he fell THAT HARD.

AND YES, had I researched high chairs better 16 months ago, I might have picked a different one knowing what I know…

Ugh :-… (

Warning to parents of super strong toddlers: get your Dorel Eddie Bauer high chair to the basement sooner than we did…

PS: I had a few minutes while boys were playing and found out the Consumer Safety Commission has an inquisition into government regulations in stroller and high chair restraint failure.

Marsh isn’t the only one.

The government study into stroller and high chair harness failure lists the top causes of incidents like what Marsh went through. After kids reach a certain strength and development (generally between 9 and 15 months) no harness EVEN EXISTS that can stop them from doing exactly what Marsh did.

I am pretty sure the combination of his small size, bright mind, Evil Knieval capabilities, and incompetent restraining system all combined to allow him to get hurt despite my best attempts not to.

As rotten as it is that he was hurt, I am relieved it was not as bad as it could have been.
