Swap

Marshall was kicking his ear infections and croup very well until last night when the antibiotics (though wonderful at attacking the upper respiratory germs) began to wreak havoc on his GI system.

It seems we’ve swapped one set of yechy symptoms for another yechy set.

The ridiculous optimist in me believes Marshall is just working the germs out of his system and everything will be just fine. As a mom of four, I’ve plenty of experience helping these wild boys fight off GI stuff.

But as a heart mom, I’m a complete rookie. I do know that if Marshall’s fluid levels get out of balance, things could get quite dangerous given his condition and medications. I contacted Dr Friedman to get some reassurance that I’m doing the right thing but it doesn’t lighten the worry.

The realist in me is so tired she can do little more than slow dance this little ginger miracle in an attempt to help soothe his tummy.

And try to stay awake (it was a long night and today seems even longer.)

And try to just let whatever happens next happen without affecting now…
