36 Days ‘Til Santa

My apologies for not taking the time to update everyone on how things are.

Things. Are. More. Busy. Than. I. Ever. Could. Have. Imagined.

Birthday season was a success and now on to the holidays… without a lot of time to breathe in between.

Forward we go…on to the Holiday Hustle…

The good news is Marshall is thriving.  He can sit, wave, raise his arms for “So Big!,” make raspberries, jabber in his wild tongue, say “hi!,” motion to be picked up, stand with support, position himself into a bear crawl pose, and make anyone smile.

Including me.  A lot.  He has been saying “Dada!” for five months.  This week he just intentionally started saying “Mmm-mm-mama!”

The bad news is he got his first ear infection (already :/) and consumes nearly 150% of my attention and time.  He wants to MOVE (but needs more physical therapy to get there…he was appoved today for another six months!!)

And he wants to be entertained, held, fed, and engaged all the time since he can not quite yet explore on his own.

So that leaves me little time in this juggling act as mom, rookie nurse,  home pharmacist, maid, dishwasher, cook, chauffeur, butler, diaper changer, floor scrubber, laundry lady, boo boo kisser, wife, and writer.

On Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs I’m clawing away in the bottom of the triangle.

But my GOD it is worth it when these boys smile.

And, like today, when Marshall erupted in giggles while sitting in his highchair munching his breakfast watching me chug coffee and type furiously.  All at once, he just laughed at me…with this full on, deep bellied, joy filled laugh of his that makes me just stop.

And be entirely thankful.

These moments when we are together are incredible.  These moments at home with my all of men are everything (even when they laugh at me ;-). )
