Dr S informed us Marshall had Heterotaxy.
Just eight and a half weeks after the wild boys and I had this talk by the creek.
I remember the absolute terror I felt after that “Heterotaxy Diagnosis” appointment with Dr S.
How I called my mom hysterical in the car on the way home.
How once I got home I cried some more. For weeks. As I scoured the universe (and Internet) looking for information only to find that everything about Heterotaxy was vague and so very, very grim. Imagine sitting just 7 weeks out from giving birth and finding out your baby’s chances with HLHS were 80% in his favor and then dropping to 35% if he could even survive getting out of your body.
And then more and more tests. And more and more scary wacky pregnancy related discoveries.
And soooo many, many tears.
And soooooo much gratitude.
Then Marshall Conor Sepello was born SCREAMING…
And he went through more than any person should ever have to.
