Marshall had his 2nd post-op check up with Dr S this a.m. The echo showed the pulmomary vein confluence has signs of blockage (not sure if this is the proper medical term) and is at 10 (previously thought to have been at 4).
When we left Boston, Dr Friedman had said it is only a big issue if it is greater than 10-15.
I am once again trying to balance my ridiculous optimism against one of my greatest fears.
Other than that, everything “looks great” (direct quote). Marshall has gained one pound, grown two teeth, and his heart function remains unchanged. Dr Smith wants to go down on the lasix because things are going so well.
Dr Smith said close monitoring it is all he wants to do for now and he has never in all of his years of practice seen anything come of this confluence issue.
This is slight reassurance.
And he will see us again on Oct. 21.
Many many thanks for all the good thoughts & prayers. Please, please keep sending them ♡
