Sooooo Marshall’s cath was full of all kinds of things to make it more interesting.
Highlights (?) included our late arrival (oops on me for savoring more time with Marshall), difficulties in even placing the cath, a wait for the book incident I will call “A Fellow Blood Spray,” a question of whether to place a stent (they didn’t THANK GOD), a series of pokes to attempt to place an iv line (hello pincushion), a very minor head laceration which could end a really important study (hope with me that the Board doesn’t), an added boost of sedation to “calm” our redheaded spitfire down, a longer than anyone liked intubation, whatever I am forgetting, and one HECK of a team.
Once the circus ended, Marshall went to the ICU for observation.
Marshall ate (a bottle of the good stuff).
Marshall peed (as he should).
Marshal is sleeping soundly (as I should be too…)
We meet with Dr Friedman first thing tomorrow to discuss plans.
In the meantime, please send your thanks to the folks involved into today’s Cath Circus.
And while you are sending things, send some really big, really healthy, really hope-filled thoughts to our little man …please, please, please if you have any to spare…
