Fifth’s Disease has struck

Last night I noticed three of the four wild boys have a rash.  And one ginger boy has been very tired and very grumpy this week.

A part of me thought (ok hopedlikeheck) it was just the heat.

It wasn’t.

This morning I made arrangements for the big wild boys to be evaluated by the great team at the school based health clinic.  Rashes aren’t good and I was a bit fearful that they had strep or a sun allergy.

As it turns out, it’s Fifth’s Disease.

And Marshall has it too.  A hasty trip to see his pediatrician confirmed it.

The good news is he seems to be ok so far.

The bad news is it can cause problems for babies with “special” systems.

So we just have to wait and see.

And hope more.

And in other news, we have been referred to a new hometown cardiologist (there is a long story behind this change that I am saving for Marshall’s book.  The story is so good, I need some time to cool off 😉  ).

Whew for now…time to get everyone well again since there are only 17 days ’til we see Dr. Friedman!!
