“Free the pee”

If the wild boys were here, they would chant and cheer with me “Free the pee!” (Inside joke: we watched a movie that inspired them to chant this for weeks)

Man I miss my boys. All four of them.

Anyway, Marshall’s nurse was on break when I called but still thankfully answered. He is “Stable. Very stable.”  We are all waiting, hoping, & perhaps even praying he pees.

He has to lose the extra fluid and peeing is the only way.

So please, if you can, help us “Free the pee!.”

Rewind to last night:
Nothing on earth could have prepared me for seeing him post-op. I completely broke down.

He is heavily sedated with paralytics.

He is on a ventilator.

There are no words to describe what we saw when we saw Marshall last night.

My own heart was so heavy all day yesterday that my chest just throbbed.

And I couldn’t hold back the tears.

His nurse was very reassuring about his condition and how well he was doing all things considered.  So far he has needed minimal intervention. His heart rate is good. His blood pressure is good. He was peeing on his own.

His chest is open. The nurses were kind enough to keep that under a blanket so I didn’t have to see.

Call me crazy but I can’t bear the thought of what lies beneath.

Tough stuff. But marshall’s strength is incredible. I am so thankful for him, his brothers, my husband (who I know I would not have made it this far without), our families, our friends, and all of the doctors and nurses who have helped us every step of the way.

Much love and hugs ♥
